Unicorn

Tired feet kick yellowed leaves,

On my shadowed stoop.

Crackling, tears leaf edge from stem

Below the silent eaves:

Time a drop condensed to brief

Sparkles in the sun,

Waiting on a unicorn

In the rain - I leave.
