my scissored rake sweeps

across origami fields

rows of paper wheat

fall under

my midnight lamp

an origami sheriff wanders

this origami town

whistles on his origami horse

townsfolk fold under

a silver moon

homes fly into paper cranes

and tuck themselves

into my empty pocket

i shut my desk-lamp

and this origami land

bare under my gaze

falls into darkness
