Marine Biologist Leaves for Work

Hands smooth fur-laden coat,

And hide old hurts.

Vespa, loaded, croaks: a makeshift boat.

Eyes belie stress that lurks,

Under pretty smile,

This marine biologist leaves for work.

Mighty dive into water,

And, roaring, Vespa soars,

Past aquatic sights which called her,

When she was still a kitten in a store.
