Orange-yellow,
Crumpled on a stoop.
Sunshine mellow
Lights the edges fine:
Paper, sallow, fidgets by a dime.
Autumn leaf, wallows
In autumn mood.
Hanging trees
Whip me by the door
Ask flowers to
Kiss me, and whisper, low
To galloping heart, tired with sun.
An autumn air stills
This autumn mood.
Lift the leaf,
And ponder still
How this silhouette
From yonder will
Remain forever, orange-yellow, ‘til
The coming spring lifts
My autumn mood.
